How to Clean a Waterless Urinal

A waterless urinal is easier to clean than a traditional urinal, since it inhibits certain bacteria growth and smells. As a result, a waterless urinal takes only a simple, all-purpose cleaner to clean. Remember to protect yourself with protective gear when you are cleaning a waterless urinal, since germs are still present.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on gloves and goggles before handling the waterless urinal system.

    • 2

Take any loose objects and debris out of the urinal.

    • 3

Spray the urinal surface with a neutral or all-purpose cleaner. If you use a johnny mop, soak it with water and cleaner and scrub the surface of the urinal. The amount of cleaner you use depends on the cleaner instructions.

    • 4

Let the cleaner sit on the waterless urinal if the cleaner instructs to do so.

    • 5

Wipe the waterless urinal with a soft sponge or a johnny mop soaked in clean water.

    • 6

Dry the surface with a clean cloth. Do not pour water down the urinal trap, since it may dislodge the sealant.
