List of Safety Management Objectives
Businesses are required by law to initiate and maintain a type of safety management system for their employees. These management systems can vary by the size of the company, the type of industry, and business insurance requirements. No matter what type of safety management system that your business employs to help ensure worker safety, there are several objectives that remain the same regardless of size or industry.-
Safety Rules

Every company should create a list of safety rules for their employees. These rules should apply to the workplace and should be recorded by either the safety manager or the Human Resources department. These rules should be available to every employee and should be included in any safety training that your company assigns to employees. Safety rules can also be distributed to workers and placed in easily visible places such as break or locker storage rooms for employee review.
Training

Another objective of workplace safety management is to create and implement safety training for employees. This training can be generic to the workplace or specific to each position to help the employee better understand any safety hazards that they may face while at work. Safety training should not only demonstrate safe workplace conduct but should also include information on what to do in case of an injury or another emergency, such as a fire or tornado.
Safety Management/Committee

When creating the structure of safety rules and training for your company, a safety manager or committee may be required to meet OSHA requirements. A safety manager would head up the safety department in your business in larger organizations while a safety committee may be more appropriate for a smaller organization. The safety manager or committee provides structure to ongoing safety protocols and helps to bridge the gap between employer and employee with regard to employee safety concerns.
