Safety Clothing for Utility Work

If you are involved in any type of utility work, you understand the need for special safety clothing. The safety items vary from job to job, but they essentially serve the same purposes; all should protect the body from harm.
  1. Safety vests

    • Vests are designed to let workers be seen and are essential for safety. They are reflective for night work and brightly colored for daytime.

    Gloves

    • Thick gloves protect your hands from the weather. They also guard against metal or wood splinters.

    Boots

    • Sturdy boots with steel toes are necessary for some jobs. Thick, rubber soles may be a requirement for working around oils or water.

    Eye safety

    • Eye safety is important for jobs that require cutting or welding.

    Hard hats

    • Construction sites require hard hats for workers and visitors. Any work place that has workers above the normal walking areas will also need hard hats for employee protection.
