How can you get a tummy tuck on the nhs?
In order for the NHS to consider funding a tummy tuck, you will need to meet certain criteria, such as:
- Having significant excess skin and fat around your abdomen that causes medical problems, such as pain, infections, or difficulty moving.
- Having tried other non-surgical methods of weight loss, such as diet and exercise, without success.
- Being fit and healthy enough to undergo surgery.
If you meet these criteria, you will need to talk to your GP about being referred to a specialist plastic surgeon. The surgeon will assess you to determine if a tummy tuck is the best option for you and whether it would be funded by the NHS.
