Why do a ECG on head injury patient?
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is not routinely performed as part of the initial evaluation of a head injury patient unless there is a specific cardiac complaint or concern based on the patient's overall presentation. While some head injuries, particularly severe traumatic brain injuries, can indirectly affect cardiac electrical activity, an ECG is primarily used to assess the heart's functioning rather than evaluating head injury specifically.
