What is bra size?
Bra size is a measurement system used to indicate the size of a woman's breasts and the appropriate size of bra required to cover the breasts snugly and comfortably. It consists of two components:
1. Band Size:
- Measured in inches or centimeters, the band size refers to the circumference around the underbust, directly below the breasts.
- Common band sizes range from 28 to 50 inches or 70 to 125 centimeters.
2. Cup Size:
- Indicated by letters ranging from AA to L, the cup size designates the volume, fullness, or projection of the breasts from the chest wall.
- Cup sizes indicate how much room is required in the bra cup to adequately cover and support the breasts. Smaller cup sizes like AA and A represent smaller breast volumes, while larger cup sizes like D, E, F, and beyond accommodate fuller volumes.
Bra sizes combine the band size and cup size to provide a specific measurement for a bra. For example, a 34C bra indicates a band size of 34 inches or 85 centimeters and a cup size of C.
Bra sizing can vary among different countries and bra brands, and it's recommended to use accurate body measurements or try on bras to find the size that fits and supports the breasts most comfortably.
