Can head lice be transferred by sharing football helmet?

Head lice are tiny, parasitic insects that feed on human blood. They spread through direct contact with an infected person's head or personal items. While it is possible to transmit head lice through shared hairbrushes, hats, and clothing, it is unlikely to occur through sharing a football helmet.

Football helmets are not typically shared among players, and even if they were, the chances of head lice transmission would be low. The inside of a football helmet creates a barrier between the wearer's head and the helmet, reducing the likelihood of lice transmission.

To prevent the spread of head lice, it is important to avoid close head-to-head contact with infected individuals, wash personal items, such as hats and hairbrushes, frequently and avoid sharing personal items.
