How to Get Your Nose Done
Cosmetic nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, can alter your nose in a variety of ways -- such as making it thinner, less pointy or more symmetrical. In addition to aesthetic improvement, rhinoplasty is also undertaken to reconstruct nose tissues following serious injury.Instructions

1
Consult your general physician before planning surgery. Any existing physical health problems may make surgery hazardous.
-
2
Talk to friends or family members who have undergone cosmetic surgery. Ask them what pain they experienced, how long how they needed to heal and how pleased they are with the results.
-
3
Avoid undergoing nose surgery if you have mental health problems, such as body dysmorphia, as your judgment of your physical appearance may be impaired. Speak to close relatives to see if other people agree that surgery is a good idea.
-
4
Keep your expectations realistic. A nose job can improve your physical appearance but it's unlikely to change your life. Any debt or marital problems you have will still be there after surgery.
-
5
Check the costs of rhinoplasty by researching cosmetic surgeons in your region on the Internet. Examine your personal finances to see if you have enough money. Avoid going further into debt to finance your surgery unless you are sure you have the means to pay it back.
-
6
Choose a surgeon. Many cosmetic surgeons offer free initial consultations, so speak to as many as you can. Ask about the procedure and any aftercare facilities, and choose the surgeon that best answers your questions. Request to see "before" and "after" photos of previous patients to assess the quality of the work.
-
7
Prepare for your nose job. Most rhinoplasty operations require patients to avoid food and drink for a specified period before surgery. Make sure to get all pre-op instructions from your consultant.
-
8
Arrange for a friend or relative to pick you up after the operation. Your face will be heavily bandaged and you will probably be on painkillers, so avoid driving or using public transportation.
-
9
Wait for your nose to fully heal before evaluating the operation. Your nose will probably be severely bruised and suffer from bleeding for weeks after the operation. Don't panic -- this is perfectly normal.
