Brazilian Butt Lift Dangerous Procedures

The Brazilian butt lift procedure involves removing fat from selected areas of your body and re-injecting it into the buttocks. This butt augmentation procedure results in well-shaped and perky buttocks. However, there are certain complications associated with the butt lift procedure.
  1. Irregular Shape

    • Occasionally, the fat may settle into the buttocks in an unusual manner. When this happens, the buttocks take on a lopsided shape or lumpy appearance.

    Scarring

    • Although rare, some patients do experience scarring as a result of the Brazilian butt lift procedure. Scarring may occur in either the area where fat was taken from (typically the stomach), or in the buttocks, where fat was injected.

    Fat Absorption

    • Approximately 30 percent of patients experience significant fat absorption, which affects the results of the butt lift. In this case, the patient will need to undergo a second grafting procedure to desired the results.

    Swelling

    • To allow for a degree of fat absorption, some doctors may choose to overfill the buttocks with fat. This typically results in a temporary swelling or puffiness of the buttocks.

    Allergic Reaction

    • If the patient does not have an adequate amount of body fat to be used for the Brazilian butt lift, silicone butt implants will be used. As with any implant surgery, the patient may have an allergic reaction to the silicone implants, which could result in serious medical complications.
