Bio Laser Lift Facial Treatment
Biolaser treatments are quickly becoming the preferred method for patients seeking face-lift treatments. They are noninvasive, nonsurgical and cost effective. They also yield the best results for those who do not want to go under the knife. Biolaser face-lift treatments can be used for any number of different procedures, whether to reduce wrinkles or smooth skin weathered by sun damage. They are also useful for skin cancer patients who suffer from scarring from the disease. Consultation with physicians in this area is important to determine what is the most beneficial use for biolaser treatments for patients looking to rejuvenate damaged or aging skin.-
Benefits
-
Biolaser facial treatments have many of the benefits of surgical face-lifts. They rejuvenate the skin, decrease or eliminate the number of wrinkles, and create a healthy and younger appearance. They are also, in many ways, cost effective. For instance, depending on the type of treatment, a biolaser facial lift treatment can cost upwards of $25 for five-minute treatments, to $55 for 15-minute treatments.
Function
-
Generally, biolaser face-lift treatment is a technique that uses a laser to remove the upper layers of the epidermis on the face. Typically the laser destroys the surface layers of skin so that the lower dermis or skin is exposed. The strength of the laser is then reduced to allow a heating technique that stimulates the collagen in the skin. Once the treatment is completed, the stimulated skin creates a softer, less wrinkled layer of epidermis. This is done specifically through a careful application of a laser beam that is directed toward affected areas of the skin, such as wrinkles around the eyes, mouth and nose, or over the entire facial region. Biolaser face treatments are used to remove superficial wrinkles, tighten the skin, create consistent pigmentation, and repair acne or skin-cancer scars. For more significant problems with scarring or wrinkling, surgical face-lifts are more effective. Biolaser face-lift treatments are also ineffective in treating problems associated with the neck, sagging skin or extra fat.
Operation
-
Biolaser face-lift treatments are time effective. They are performed generally within one day, often under a few hours. Patients can decide whether to undergo treatments under a local or general anaesthesia, depending on the type of face-lift treatments that are being performed and the patients' pain threshold. This is all determined by the patient and his/her physician before the treatment. Patients are asked to fast for six hours before treatment. This includes abstaining from all food and liquids. Before the laser beam is applied, the face is thoroughly washed. Again, depending on the treatment, the actual operation may last a few minutes to one to two hours.
Side Effects
-
There are several side effects associated with biolaser face-lift treatments. These effects may include: crusting and oozing of pus from wounds; pain; redness of the skin; and scabs. Any of these side effects may last for a week to 10 days and, in the case of skin reddening, six months, before they completely fade. To aid the healing process, patients are asked to stay out of the sun until the skin reddening has faded; to maintain relaxed facial movements; to implement daily hygienic routines, such as washing and moisturizing the skin; and to use mild cleansers to avoid skin irritation.
Risks and Complications
-
As with any elective surgical or non-surgical procedure, there are risks and complications. Some of the more common include: skin infections; changes in skin pigment (increase or decrease in pigmentation); scarring; and an increase in cold-sore infections. These risks and complications vary for each patient. Its important before undertaking this procedure for patients to consult with their physician and determine whether they are at high risk for some of these complications, and the ways in which they can be treated that will alleviate pain and aid in the healing process.
