How to Recover From a Contour Thread Lift
A contour thread facelift is a relatively new procedure that uses nonabsorbent thread to tighten and lift the sagging skin of the forehead, face and neck. While a contour thread facelift is not as extreme as a full surgical facelift, it can leave you looking younger with minimal cost. Most surgeons can perform a contour thread facelift in about an hour without the need for general anesthesia, with minimal scarring and quick recovery.Instructions

1
Expect to have a bit of discomfort after your procedure. While recovery time of a contour thread facelift is much faster than a full surgical facelift, you should expect some bruising and swelling.
-
2
Wrap your neck and chin with a supportive sponge or dressing, which will be supplied by your doctor. Many surgeons may also require the use of an elastic neck sling to be worn both day and night during the week following the procedure. Sleep on your back for at least one week to prevent excess stress on the threads.

Keep your face immobile for a few weeks after surgery, as excessive movement can cause the threads to come loose and literally pop out of the skin. Do not open your mouth widely, laugh hard or smile broadly and do not rub the facial area. After about 3 weeks the skin's tissue will have built up enough around the threads to hold them in place.

Return to work and a regular routine as soon as three days after surgery, as long as you do not over-stress the facial area. While you may experience mild redness and swelling, most patients report that with the use of surgical make-up they have returned to work with little problem.

Clean your incisions and inspect the areas carefully for infection or excessive swelling during recovery. You doctor will provide you with cleansers and care procedures; however, it is your job to ensure proper healing in the weeks after surgery. If you notice any discomfort, swelling or signs of infection, see your doctor immediately.
