How to Do Plyometric Push-ups
How to Do Plyometric Push-ups:1. Start in a standard push-up position with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
2. Perform a regular push-up until you reach the apex of the movement, then continue to push up until you are slightly in the air.
3. While airborne, your body should become almost parallel to the floor, then, explosively push yourself back down and use this generated momentum to clap or tap your hands together before returning to the starting position.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to continue performing plyometric push-ups.
Points to Remember:
1. Ensure that you have a solid foundation in regular push-ups before attempting plyometric variations to avoid injuries.
2. Start with fewer reps and gradually increase as you gain strength and confidence.
3. Maintain a consistent tempo throughout the movement and aim for controlled landings to reduce strain on your wrists and joints.
4. Listen to your body and stop immediately if you feel any discomfort or pain.
