How to Eliminate the Need for Reading Glasses
Reading glasses, or readers, are worn by people suffering from presbyopia, a diminished ability to see close-up objects. The readers come in a variety of designs and colors and can be purchased at several drug stores or obtained through a doctor's prescription. Wearing reading glasses can become a nuisance, especially since the glasses must be removed in order to look at objects from a distance. There are several ways that anyone can eliminate the need for readers.Things You'll Need

1
Wear bi-focal glasses. These glasses are now available in a no-line style that eliminates the need to remove your glasses whenever you must look at any objects far away. These are ideal for people who do not mind wearing glasses but prefer not having to constantly take them off of their face.

Speak to your optometrist about monovision contact lenses if you have presbyopia. One lens is worn that corrects the eye for presbyopia while the other eye is covered with a lens that is used to see far away. This is an option for some, although some people have trouble adjusting to this type of lens. If the vision issue is found in both eyes, then traditional contact lenses can be worn.

Speak to your doctor about corrective eye surgery. Traditional corrective eye surgery may be necessary if the patient has trouble seeing objects near him. If there is an issue with only one eye, then monovision corrective surgery is sought. During this procedure, the one eye that is suffering from presbyopia is corrected differently than the eye that cannot see objects at a distance.
