Where is the heart located in body?

The heart is located in the center of the chest, slightly to the left. It is positioned between the lungs and behind the sternum, the flat bone that forms the front of the chest. The heart is about the size of a clenched fist and weighs between 10 and 12 ounces (280 to 340 grams) in adults.
