How to Look Up an HCPCS
The Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System, or HCPCS, is a coding system used to describe diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures provided to Medicaid and Medicare patients and performed by doctors and other healthcare practitioners. Commonly pronounced "hicks-picks," HCPCS are codes based on the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) of the American Medical Association.
