How to Attach a Silicone Sheet
You can apply a silicone dressing to protect an injured area and speed the healing process. Silicone sheets are often attached to healing wounds to improve their appearance once they have healed. Custom shapes of silicone sheets are designed to fit common surgical scars. Proper application and regular use of the silicone sheet can increase its level of effectiveness. Scars that are less than six months old can usually benefit from the moist and dark environment below a silicone sheet.Things You'll Need

1
Clean the scar with antibacterial soap and water. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Massage a couple drops of vitamin E oil into the cleaned scar.
-
2
Hold the silicone sheet over the scar so the entire length of the wound is covered. Trim the silicone sheet to size with a pair of sharp scissors so it sits flat on the scarred area of the body. Peel the paper backing off the silicone sheet, if you are using the self-adhesive variety.

3
Press the adhesive side of the silicone sheet onto the skin so the scar is covered. Secure the outer edges of the silicone sheet with medical tape if the silicone sheet is not self-adhesive. The medical tape can also be helpful if wearing a self-adhesive silicone sheet during physically strenuous activities.
