What Is a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover is a coined term for a series of plastic surgeries and laser treatments for a woman after having a baby. The goal of the makeover is to bring the body back to its original condition or better.

    • Women must diet and excersise to maintain their results after surgery.

      Women who want to have mommy makeovers should be done having children. They must also be done breastfeeding and have lost as much of the pregnancy weight as possible on their own. Plastic surgeons recommend that a mother should wait at least six months after giving birth to her last child.

    • Plastic surgery can be done to the labia minora and labia majora.

      A mommy makeover can include many treatments, and many surgeons now offer mommy makeover packages. They can include breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tucks, butt lifts, liposuction and laser treatments to remove either hair or stretch marks.

      Having plastic surgery presents risks. Some surgery risks include scarring, excessive bleeding and infections, as well as deep vein thrombosis, and cardiac and pulmonary complications. The post-surgery results can always be different than what was planned and require a revisionary surgery.
