What is the small flap found at top of esophagus?
The small flap found at the top of the esophagus is called the epiglottis. It is a thin, flexible piece of cartilage that helps to prevent food and drink from entering the windpipe (trachea) during swallowing. The epiglottis is located at the base of the tongue and opens and closes automatically when we swallow.
