Plastic Surgery After Weight Loss

Excessive weight loss can result in loose folds of skin and pockets of fat that can only be addressed with surgery. The areas that are most commonly affected are the abdomen, breasts, buttocks, thighs, arms, and even the face and neck.
  1. Abdominoplasty

    • An abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. The loose skin is stretched downwards and the excess is then removed.

    Breast Lift

    • Drooping breasts can be corrected with a breast lift, where a surgeon removes skin and repositions the nipples. Men who have lost excessive weight may wish to have a gynaecomastia, which removes stubborn fat deposits in the chest area.

    Buttocks Lift

    • A buttocks lift removes excess tissue and fat from the side of the buttocks and upper thighs.

    Thigh Lift

    • Similar to a buttocks lift, a thigh lift removes excess tissue from the inner and outer thighs and can improve the appearance of cellulite.

    Face and Neck Lift

    • Weight loss in the face can create sagging skin around the face and neck. A neck lift and a face lift can be done separately or together, to improve the appearance of facial skin.
