Different Kinds of Plastic Surgery

Mention the words 'plastic surgery' and no doubt images of celebrities with a new nose every week or looking rather, shall we say 'enhanced' in the chest area will come to mind. Breast augmentation and tummy tucks are the front runners of plastic surgeries performed today, with liposuction and rhinoplasty close behind. But those aren't the only procedures being performed. There are some procedures that many of us never would have considered, let alone thought possible.
  1. Buttock Implants

    • While many of us work hard to try to reduce the size of our booties, there has been a surprising increase in the desire for rounder, fuller bottoms, and plastic surgeons have worked diligently to fill this demand. The ultimate outcome is usually achieved by either transferring fat from one area of the body to the buttocks, or by inserting an implant.

    Labial Reduction

    • It would seem that the battle against the effects of aging does not stop at what the general populace can see. This procedure involves reducing the size of a woman's labia, and has become surprisingly common. It should be noted, however, that this can be done for more practical reasons, such as discomfort from rubbing on clothes or during intercourse. It's actually a very simple procedure and restores the youthful appearance of the vagina.

    Earlobe Reduction/Enhancement

    • The earlobe is a body part that not many of us even think about, except for the placement and removal of earrings. But it's those earrings that can pull on the lobe and elongate them as time passes. Earlobe reductions will reduce the size of the lobe, and is a very simple procedure. As with everything else, the effects of aging can shrivel the earlobes on some people, so an injectable filler is used to give them the youthful plump of years past.

    Eyebrow & Eyelash Transplants

    • Aging, over plucking or heredity, can do a number on our bodies, and sometimes in the strangest of places. Eyelashes and brows can thin to the point of being non-existent, which is cause for frustration and a search for cover-ups. The evolution of hair transplantation has given rise to the possibility of application to the eyebrow and lash areas. Although not a common-place procedure due to the prevalence of alternatives such as makeup and false eyelashes, some patients do elect for this procedure.

    Nipple Reduction/Enhancement

    • Breast augmentation is not the only thing women change when it comes to their chests. Large nipples are a concern for some women because they can be visible through clothes, all the time. Reducing the size of the nipple is a simple procedure, and some men have elected to undergo the procedure, as well. Nipple enhancement usually involves changing an inverted nipple to one with a more outward position.
