Section Battle Drills

1. React to Ambush:

* Squad rapidly reacts to an ambush and engages the enemy; leader issues order to assault after suppressing the enemy.

* Elements use cover and move to outflank the enemy if possible.

* Leader consolidates the unit after the breach.

2. Assault a Building:

* Squad rapidly enters the building while firing or throwing their grenades to stun or kill close quarter enemy threats.

* Leader directs movement while ensuring support by fire.

* Squad searches, clears and reorganizes the building.

3. React to Contact:

* Squad rapidly reacts to enemy contact and engages the enemy; leader issues order to assault after suppressing the enemy.

* Elements use cover and move to outflank the enemy if possible.

* Leader consolidates the unit after the breach.

4. Move Under Direct Fire:

* Squad moves under enemy direct fire while providing cover and suppressive fire.

* Squad leader designates the movement plan and support by fire positions in order to suppress the enemy.

* Squad leader leads the movement plan utilizing any available cover and concealment.

* Squad leader calls for and adjusts suppressive fire if needed, designates and leads the route to a covered or concealed location.

5. React to Indirect Fire:

* Squad rapidly reacts to enemy indirect fire attacks and seeks cover.

* Squad moves by bounds from cover to cover ensuring proper casualty evacuation as needed.

* Leader designates alternate routes and movement plan.

6. Clear a Trench or Bunker:

* Squad rapidly rushes the enemy position while simultaneously suppressing it.

* Squad engages the enemy in close quarters combat.

* Squad leader directs movement and support by fire from other elements if available.

* Squad consolidates the position and prepares for counterattack or follow on operations.
