How to Use a Babcock Clamp
If you have ever watched a medical TV show, such as House or ER, there is a good probability that you have seen a Babcock clamp in action. A Babcock Clamp is a curved clamp without teeth. It is used for grasping soft tissue, lymph nodes, fallopian tubes and other bodily structures. Insert index finger and thumb into the scissor-like handle openings of the Babcock clamp.

Pull your thumb towards your body to remove the lock of the clamp. Spread your index finger and thumb away from each other to widen the clamp's tips.

Place the clamp's tips around the object you want to grasp. Squeeze the handles toward each other to tighten the clamp's tips.

Push your thumb away from your body and squeeze the handles together. The Babcock clamp is locked onto the object. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to release the object.
