National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Exams

- Cognitive (written)

- General subjects that all EMTs are tested on:

- Airway & Breathing

- Cardiology & Resuscitation

- Pharmacology

- Medical Emergencies

- Traumatic Injuries

- EMS Operations

- Pediatrics

- Geriatrics

- Operations

- Hazardous Materials

- Psychomotor (practical)

- EMT candidates perform skills while being scored

State Exams

- States will require the NREMT exams or they offer their own state EMT certification exam with psychomotor practical exam.
