Danek Instruments: Cleaning Instructions

Sofamor Danek, a division of Medtronic, manufactures an array of surgical instruments and implants, in addition to providing education and training to surgeons and their support staffs. Medtronic sells and rents surgical instruments to licensed medical professionals or establishments. Before reusing or returning the surgical instruments, they must be properly cleaned and sterilized. Many of these instruments are manufactured from resin-bonded composites, so it is important not to use cleaners that contain certain chemicals. The cleaning solution should be approved for surgical use, and be neither acidic nor basic; the ph should be seven (neutral).
