How to Use Leg Braces With Wood
Wooden leg braces are used to reinforce the joints usually found in the legs of tables. Leg braces are made of wood and are used to connect two pieces of wood - generally connecting the leg to the table. They provide extra support to the joint, making it stronger and more durable.Things You'll Need
- Wood
- Wood glue
- Screws
- Drill screwdriver

1
Mark a line with pencil about 3 inches away from where the corner would be located on a joint. Do this on both pieces of wood creating the corner.
-
2
Measure the diagonal distance between these two marked lines. Cut a piece of wood to exactly this measurement.
-
3
Taper the ends of this piece of wood to a 45-degree angle. It should now fit snuggly in the corner, the edge of it resting on the pencil mark you made at the start.
-
4
Apply wood glue to both ends and hold them in place for five minutes so the wood can set. This acts as the wood brace.
-
5
Drill a screw into the wood brace at a 45-degree angle. Make sure it goes into the wood brace and through the connecting wood.
