How to Have Gender Reassignment Surgery
Instructions
-
-
1
Live as the gender you desire for at least 1 year. This is to make sure that gender reassignment is what you really want. You don't want to change your gender and then find out later that you were mistaken.
-
2
Find a surgeon that you are comfortable with. Check his background and experience in gender reassignment surgery. If you have a friend who has had the surgery and is pleased with it, ask who her surgeon was.
-
3
Schedule an appointment to meet with the surgeon. Ask all the questions that you have. It would be a good idea to write down your questions beforehand so that you don't forget them.
-
4
Submit your deposit on your payment. Make sure all the necessary forms are filled out and you have done everything your surgeon has requested.
-
5
Pick a date for the gender reassignment surgery. Don't schedule it within the same time frame as any other surgeries because this an intense procedure with a long recovery time.
-
6
Seek out any post-therapy that may be necessary. This includes but is not limited to hormone replacement, permanent hair removal and voice therapy.
-
7
See a counselor after your gender reassignment therapy. Though you may not think you need it, this a large transformation that even the most mentally healthy patient will still need.
